Cue, kit mimics 5 lab tests
We see a revolution in healthcare. Medical tests, information and contact to experts become more accessible then ever. Healthcare is in transition towards a more predictive network.
Meet Cue. This could revolutionize healthcare. Cue, a tiny handheld device is able to track inflammation, vitamin D, fertility, influenza, and testosterone via a swab of spit, snot or blood. Hormones like vitamin D (fertility, inflammation), saliva (testosterone) or mucus (influenza) are being tracked by the device. Cue costs about $300 and $150 or $200 for a set number of pre-orders. When you buy the device you get sample cartridges to do the tests. These are disposable. Additional cartridges will cost between $2 and $5 depending on the test.
We see a real hype round devices which are able to give us a better view into our own health. Most of these devices aren’t yet scientifically approved. So there is still a long road ahead before these devices can prove to give us accurate information which is also trusted by the doctor. Cue hasn’t got and FDA approval. We move towards a world where technology will gives us more and even pretime information about our health. But we aren’t there yet. The waiting is for scientific evidence that the devices really help and provide us with trust worthy information. The trend is clearly and disruptive because people get more and sooner critical healthcare information. The waiting is for devices which have FDA approval and scientific evidence.
