Living under water

Living under water

In a number of years more there are more than 10 million people on this earth. We have to think about alternatives for our cities. We could live on the moon or orher planets, but we can also find an alternative closer to home. Can we live in 2050 in the oceans?

The Earth is getting more crowded evrey day. According to calculations by the UN in 2050 no less than 10 billion people are living on planet earth. And in the generations after ours that number is likely to grow exponentially. Researchers claim to be close to the unmasking of the aging gene. The space on earth for us to live, work, and grow our food will become increasingly limited. There are several ideas to live in space, but why not live under water?

The Polish company Deep Ocean Technology has advanced plans to build an underwater hotel. A hotel that is partly above and partly built under water. In fact, thanks to a rich investor an underwater hotel in Dubai is alredy being built. Dubai is currently a country where everything seems to be possible. This Dubai hotel will be used primarily as a gimmick in the beginning. Staying under water is like a night in an ice hotel. However, I expect this is to be the first step on the path to live underwater. The Polish company will experience how to deal with building under water, how to realize oxygen supply under water and find solutions to the enormous pressure that the water has on people and buildings below the surface.

The oceans are the limit

The Earth consists the bigger part (70%) out of  water. Living under water may be the solution for the upcoming lack of space because of overpopulation. We can  get our energy from the oceans and cultivate plants on large fields on the oceans. Not the sky is the limit, but the oceans are.
