The running robot from Toyota
Toyota and robotics is known from their famous android Asimo. An android which is ground breaking in the world of robotics. Now Toyota gives us a new and groundbreaking robot from their famous 'partner robot' programm. Also this robot is again impressive.
The partner robot program from Toyota is to develop robotics which will support humans in their every day lives in the near future. The most famous robot from this program is of course Asimo . This robot is already several times spoken of of here on Extend Limits. But Asimo is just one example of the many prototypes from Toyota.
Another example of ground breaking advancements within robotics is of course Big Dog. This robot from Boston Dynamics is one of the robots which is most popular on YouTube. This because this robot could maintain it's balance even when it was kicked.
But the new humanoid robot from Toyota can also do that. And this robot can even run 7 kilometres per hour. Asimo can run 6 kilometres per hour. But one of the biggest advantages of this robot from Toyota is that is is also able to keep it's balance. The running is so special because when the robot runs it's feet are by every step 100 milliseconds of the ground. And still the robot is able to keep it's balance. This is a big breakthrough in robotics.
Of course there are still a lot of developments necessary to further investigate. For example the robot still isn't able to walk on not equal undergrounds. To see more inspirational clips about the progres of robotics just watch some other clip here in Extend Limits:

With all these examples of developments in robotics the future of robotics looks bright but also scary for some I might think?
