Tapscott about the digital generation
Extend Limits always pays a lot of attention to the vision of Don Tapscott. This because his vision is in line with our vision of the future. In a recent interview with Heledd Straker (nakedgenerations) he talks again about the digital generation.
The future (digital) generation is a popular topic on many blogs and other media. So I get a little bit tired of it. This because we see a lot off differences between generations but we also see a lot of difference within the same generations. I believe that technology will also develop itself to become more human centred so all generations can profit more from it.
The future generations think different (non linear) and are loyal to their social network and peer groups. The live and think digital. The net has the answers real time and not the authorities. But these aspects also arise more and more in older generations.
Don Tapscott talks about how the future generations will have different demands for traditional organisations. But they have also different demands for marketing. So organisations must changlineare and act differently towards these new markets and employees. Everything must come via new media and authority and hierarchy are dead.New generations want to be able to participate when they trust and like an organization. Still not many organisations are preparing for this nearby future. Don Tapscott talks about this with Heledd Straker from nakedgenerations.com.
