Energy from space
Space Energy expects within 3 years to build the first prototype of a satellite to produce solar energy in space.
This satellite generates energy with the help of solar panels. The generated energy will be transported by radio waves to earth. Those radio waves can be compared with radio waves used by cell phones. Advantages of this system are:
- Due to the position of this satellite in orbit, the solar panels are day and night in the sun.
- There are no bad weather conditions in space so the solar panels can generate energy without fluctuations due to weather conditions .
On earth there will be a ground station to collect the energy waves into electricity and transports the energy to the existing infrastructure. It takes 300 million Euro’s to build the First prototype.
