ATM’s for Bitcoins?

ATM’s for Bitcoins?

Until now ATM’s can only be for cash withdrawal. That seems logic, but is it logic in this Bitcoin era? In Hong Kong and Taiwan ATM’s will be opened, especially for Bitcoins.

Bitcoins exist for several years now, but in 2013 this alternative method of payment really hit mainstream. Nevertheless the use of Bitcoins remains reserved for only the innovators. They are relatively difficult to obtain, let alone that you can easily pay with. It’s going to take some time before you can pay with Bitcoins at the local grocery store.

A first step towards a wide audience of Bitcoins is set in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Robocoin-ATMs will soon be placed in these Asian countries. The Robocoin was launched just after the summer of 2013 in Vancouver and now it will find a broader audience. The company behind the Robocoin ATM expects to expand their market in America, Asia and Europe in 2014.
Now the Bitcoin is easier to obtain, I expect that the use of it will slowly expand. This may be just in time, because in 2014 the Euro is part of discussion during the coming European elections. Who knows, the Bitcoin as a serious alternative payment method besides the Euro.
